What is a Nurse Prescriber?
A Nurse Prescriber is a registered nurse with advanced training and assessment skills to diagnose, make referral, order tests where required and prescribe from a wide range of medications. They work collaboratively with doctors to provide comprehensive healthcare. They cannot prescribe certain medications, such as some controlled drugs, some anti-epileptics, some immunosuppressants, and some mental health medications, check with your GP next time you visit if you need clarification.
